Benefits

For clients

It means low cost access to a car when you really need one – but not being saddled with the whole debt load when the need is low.

For the Environment

It means people drive less often and when they do drive, they do so in a very well-maintained car.  This improves air quality and eliminates some non-point sources of pollution so the air shed and watershed are enhanced by car sharing.

For the Community

With car sharing, we have fewer cars in our communities.  This means less noise, less congestion and less stress on green space (i.e. less threat of asphalting over an area for additional parking).  Ultimately, fewer cars are impinging on space in the neighbourhood which fosters a more pedestrian-friendly place to live.

TransLink's Employer Pass Program

Clients of The Company Car are also eligible for TransLink's Employer Pass Program, which provides a 15% discount off monthly FareCards (Minimum 1 year commitment as an annual pass is issued).  Now there's no need for your company/organization to administer this program – let us do that for you.  For groups who never met the minimum 25 person requirement, through The Company Car all groups are eligible!

Permit parking

Co-op cars are permitted to park in any Permit Only or Residents Only zone in the City of Vancouver (which does not include UBC).

Cross-use agreements

We have a cross use agreement with Victoria Car Share Co-op and Nelson Carshare Co-op which means access to their cars!

Block bookings

Block Booking is available to Company Clients from 6am to 6pm for $3 per day.  Simply blocking off certain time periods each day for your priority is easy….  It means that the car's schedule is reserved for your group until the start of that day (12 midnight – 0:00) – so that you and your co-workers have priority.  The day of the booking, others will gain access for times the car has not been booked by your staff.

$0 Deductible Pool

Now Company Clients can get access to our $0 Deductible Pool if they don't have a Gold/Platinum credit card!  This covers the deductible cost when an employee is driving for work purposes.  The shared Pool covers the cost. All eligible drivers must participate in the Pool for it to work.

$0 Deductible Pool Monthly Rates

• Company Clients:  $4 for the first driver, $1.50 for each additional driver ($48/year and $18/yr)
• Not-for-Profits:  $3 for the first driver, $1.25 for each additional driver ($36/year and $15/yr)
