What does it cost to use a car?

TCC rates are easy:  for each trip you can quickly calculate what the trip will cost and easily compare car sharing rates to renting or taxi rates.  More and more companies view car sharing as the efficient and cost–effective choice in combination with transit, walking or cycling.  The Company Car can custom-design programs to suit large or small companies, taking all the guesswork out of your day-to-day transportation needs.

Deposit

• 0–5 registered drivers: $500 refundable deposit
• next 6–25 registered drivers: and additional $500 refundable deposit ($1,000 total)
• and every 25 drivers after that: an additional $1,000 refundable deposit

e.g. 100 registered drivers: $4000 refundable deposit

We also need a $500 credit card authorization from the company or organization – just in case.  We will not “hold” this money on your card; we will always notify you before using it.

Registration Fee

$20 registration for each driver

Easy Rates

(everything included in one hourly rate or one daily rate)

• Weekdays:  6am – 11pm:
  - $6 per hour, to a maximum charge of $54 per 24 hours
  - Daytime cap of $36 for not-for-profit organizations, Monday to Friday 6am – 6pm
• Evenings (weekdays and weekends):  11pm – 6am:
  - Free for bookings that spill over into this time period
  - $6 flat fee for bookings made specifically within this time period
• Weekends:  6am – 11pm:
  - $8 per hour, to a maximum charge of $72 per 24 hours
• There is a minimum charge of $6 per booking.
• Each booking includes 150 kilometres per 24-hour day or portion – for example, a three-day booking would include 450 kilometres.  Additional kilometres cost 28¢ each.
• Block bookings are available Monday to Friday from 6am to 6pm and allow you to block off certain time periods each weekday, giving your company booking priority.  With block bookings, the car's schedule will be reserved for your drivers until the start of that day (midnight).  On that day, other Car Co-op members or TCC drivers will be able to book the car during times when it's not reserved for your staff.  Block booking is available for a $3 surcharge per day.

This pricing includes all insurance, fuel, all kilometres driven, cleaning, maintenance, BCAA membership, plus permanent & permit parking.  Taxes are not included.

For clients with 6 or more registered drivers, we can email you a spreadsheet file of charges each month to import into your accounting software.
