About our vehicles

The Company Car uses Car Co-op cars – a fleet of 241 vehicles and counting of varying types.  These are located in seven cities in BC's Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island.  The cities and towns are:  UBC, Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, and on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo.

Vehicle types

People have different car needs at different times.  The Car Co-op has vehicles ranging from hatchbacks – including Volkswagen Beetles, Mini Cooper Classics and Smart Cars – up through sedans (Mazda 3; Toyota Prius, Honda Insight, Yaris and Corolla); wagons (Mazda 6, Toyota RAV 4, Ford Focus, Pontiac Vibe, and Toyota Matrix); mini vans that seat 7 such as Mazda MPVs – some with integrated child seats like Pontiac Montanas – and even pickup trucks – Mazda B4000s with short boxes, liners and canopies.  We also have two convertibles.  For the same price, you can always choose the vehicle that's right for your trip.  All of our vehicles have automatic transmissions.

Vehicle insurance

All of our Drivers are responsible for the first $500 of costs in situations where a Driver causes damage to their booked vehicle, is deemed at-fault by ICBC, or no fault is assigned (e.g. hit and run or vandalism). All of our deductibles are $500 and The Company Car has a deposit from the Client to capture this amount for paying the deductible. The Company Car has a desposit from the Client to capture this amount for paying the first $500. If ICBC assigns fault to the other driver, then you don't pay.
